I know this may seem either obvious or a moo point (if you don't get the reference, I think you should leave now!) but books always make a great gift to a person who loves reading. There are plenty of options to choose from, but a special or signed edition of their favourite book is always a great one. You could also surprise them with one or two books from their never-ending wishlist but that would need some cautious sneaking around. As luck would have it, they have probably mentioned several times (a day) what their current book obsession is. This makes things a lot easier.
